Campbell House Bed & Breakfast
With some of the 'traveling-bug' satisfied, but never wanting
to rest, Jeanne turned part of her home into a successful Bed & Breakfast
called, "Campbell House Bed & Breakfast". It gave
Jeanne the opportunity to meet people, do more decorating, and
she joined a group of local East-end B&B entrepreneurs, which
she became friends with. Many of the other bed & breakfast
homes were grand, like the Dalton's 1865 "Westhampton Country
Manor B & B" (now closed), or the Collins' historic
WHB Victorian, "1880 House Bed & Breakfast", but "Campbell
House B & B" with its flower covered brick patio, small
Italian fountain, and sun-drenched colors gave a tropical/mediterranean
ambiance that always welcomed guests. Her summer week-ends were
always booked, and she was busy cleaning and baking muffins for
her guests. By this time Jeanne was in her late 70's, and some
health issues became recurrent, but she didn't let them stop
her. Her B&B was nicely established, she had a web page advertisement
on BnB Finder.com, and a good reputation. She was even looking
into putting in an endless wave pool. |
